Roses are Red, waters are blue...Happy Valentine's Day to swimmers as bold as you!!!
Our swims celebrate the beauty of Wisconsin's lakes. We're proud to support local efforts that protect water quality, promote healthy shorelines, and encourage long-term lake sustainability for future generations of swimmers. Water clarity, nutrient levels, and ecological balance all play a role in safe open water swimming. We aim to highlight the importance of ongoing water quality testing and sustainable lake management practices that protect Wisconsin's surface waters.

The 2nd Annual Swim of Legends: will be held on August 30th, 2026.
The second annual Swim of Legends will be approximately 11 km (7 miles) this year. We will start and finish from Big Foot Beach State Park. The course will be a clockwise loop of the East end of Geneva Lake starting at 6:15 AM.
Each swimmer will be required to use a visibility float, we will have small ones to minimize drag that can be used. Hydration and Nutrition stops will be provided at two or three locations along the course.
Wetsuits will not be allowed unless water temperatures are significantly cooler than expected. Water temps are expected to be around 78°F.
The swim will take place between the no-wake buoys and shore, except for when the course goes across the narrowest part of the lake. At this point, volunteer kayakers will escort swimmers. Private kayakers are allowed if you want to bring your own, but they will be required to attend a briefing and will have rules that must be followed.
A Lunch for swimmers and volunteers along with presentation of awards will be held at BigFoot State Park after the event.
Swimmers must be able to demonstrate that they can complete 5Km in 2 hours, or longer swims at a similar pace.

The Emerald City Classic-1st Annual World Graded Championships: will be held on August 22nd, 2026.
By the power vested in Shark Free Swimming by absolutely no governing body whatsoever, you are hereby invited to compete in the totally self proclaimed World Open Water Swimming Graded Championships-that we decided is the most prestigious open water swim event on this side of the galaxy. This once-in-lifetime (and also annual, if we feel like it) event will determine World Champions by Age and Gender, ensuring maximum inclusivity and a statistically impressive number of champions. Odds of winning a "world title" have never been better.
Come out and celebrate open water swimmers of all ages and genders through age-graded and gender-based results. While proudly self-declared, this event is designed to showcase performances across age- and gender-based categories, giving every swimmer a chance to compete for "world championship" bragging rights. The goal is to recognize outstanding performances across the entire swimming community, not just elite competitors.
Hope to see you at the "Championships"!
